I have participated in the Banking Industry Meeting, organized by IESE Madrid campus. This 15th edition was focused on the deep-seated changes of recent years have given banking the features of a mature industry, faced with the declining performance of its traditional business. During a whole day, the Governor of the Bank of Spain and the CEOs of the main Spanish banks talked about the digital transformation of banking and a new scenario: sustainable finance, including the banking sector’s commitment to the SDGs of the UN 2030 Agenda.

Together with IESE professor Jorge Soley, I had the opportunity to moderate the session “Fintechs and Bigtechs, partners or competitors?” asking Gonzalo Gortázar, CaixaBank CEO.
